tuesday

Last year's photo.

Baru boleh bernafas. The kids are at the tail-end of their coughs already and no more fever this weekend please! Let's go to Aquaria or something.

Wait, is Deepavali this weekend? If it is then a visit to Klang is due for Diwali open house weeeee I can't wait! Then there is a Chinese wedding on Sunday but unfortunately I won't be able to attend because we gonna go see Sofea Jane y'all. I still don't know what it's about because my husband who has a huge crush on mem hanyut is not telling. ha. ha.

OH MY GOD NOVEMBER IS LOOMING. You know what this means. Awards submission season! Bencikkkkkk!!! But they don't call me Award Master for nothing. Hopefully we will win more awards this year. By the end of the day it's not what I craft that will help us win, it's our performance, achievements etc that counts ok. [Statement sedapkan hati]

I don't know how to write this but recently my dear friend lost her baby that she's been carrying for the past 4 months. It hurts so bad to hear the news and I can't imagine being in her shoes. Al-Fatihah to the little angel and if you're reading this Nida, love you so much and feel better soon okay. *hugs*

Oh, I'm hardly on twitter these days unless I'm replying any mentions. Whatsapp groups keep me updated and facebook (oh god I can't believe I am saying this) is pretty cool when you know every single audience that will be reading your posts or rants. Crowd control at its best. Besides I only have 47 friends on fb and no intention whatsoever to add more. Instagram is still cool, and tumblr keeps me young. Aha!

Coliseum, Jalan TAR

French onion soup.
Hainanese chicken chop.
I don't know what happened with Coliseum but everything we ordered didn't taste that great yesterday. :/

succumbed.

Don't judge. ;p

Sometimes the best gift in life is the gift you give yourself. Heard that somewhere. Or was it from a Madonna song? *shrugs*

SO I SUCCUMBED TO PANDORA!!! wtf

My earlier plan was just to browse coz I was thinking about getting them for my sisters. "What's the occasion?".
No occasion, I just don't know what to do with my money, I told the SA.
I SAY THE SHITTIEST THINGS I KNOW.

Then I started trying them on. Then the SA gave me the booklet to take home. Then I went to Starbucks. And sat there for half an hour browsing the collection. Then I tried to distract myself by entering Victoria Music Station and maybe I should get some kpop merchandise? Left empty-handed, and found myself in front of Pandora again. -_-

"So what's your story"
I guess this is the standard Pandora question that the SA will ask if you want to buy a charm or two.
I have no story. I just want something simple. Please don't make me buy charms like them makciks.
And all I could think about that time was a camera charm. Love charm is too cliche, and since I didn't go to NYC, there is no point of getting a Statue of Liberty charm. -_-

So I'm now officially Pandorized. Haha. BUT I WILL NEVER TELL YOU THAT I AM WEARING ONE!
Honestly, I'm in love with it. Goodbye for now.

Love, your favorite makcik.

p/s: Please don't buy me a Pandora charm for my birthday, promotion, anniversary, new baby etc. xoxo

Tuesday.

Back to universal banker training today. But my morning walk to the lrt station is nicer this week because there is a merry-go-round at the stadium! I'm always fond of merry-go-round and carousel photos.

Only took one photo and very minimal editing with vscocam.

forever 16

Guess I can safely say I'll never be one of those sophisticated mommas in designer shoes and shiny hair.

And I am the aunt with the mostest crazy nieces. They crack me up all the time.

f-f-f-food foundry

Photos were not taken by me because my mind was elsewhere at that time (last Thursday). I was bogged down with awards submission, but didn't have heart to say no to MM who was counting the days to leave the Company. Besides, food is always comforting. Unfortunately the chicken chop at Food Foundry no longer taste the same but at least the latte and vanilla crepe cake made everything alright again. The carbonara is a bit dry too, but the steak sandwich? Pretty good.

Went into Fossil Gardens today kononnya nak beli parting gift for MM. A bracelet would be nice for a colleague who's been with me for the past 6 years (Pandora? What Pandora?). Tried on a couple of them and left empty-handed. Because I want them all to myself! Mwahaha.

Ended up buying a leather heart-shaped jewelry box for MM from Borders. \o/

Anyways, this is my favorite. And hell yes it looks good on me! ;)

p/s: Can't splurge yet since I have to wait a month for my 70% flight ticket refund. So I guess it can wait then. All I need right now is a haircut (which would probably cost a bomb nevertheless).

why shopping online is no fun

Boo.
To be honest, I was worried that the baju raya I ordered from zalora wouldn't fit. I've never had much luck wearing local designs because of their sizes so imagine my delight when I tried on the baju, and it fits! (But of course, Roy just had to say kena kurus sikit lagi much to my dismay but that's okay because I'm used to it and not bitter at all hum hum).

Then imagine my horror after few selca(s) I realized that a bloody diamond is missing.
Small curses.

I buy t-shirts online. And accesories. Maybe some stickers and kawaii handmade stuff. Because they will never go wrong (so far lah).
So now I have to repack it, fill up a form, send to drop-off point and wait.
Which I'll probably do on Wednesday, if I have time (there's a 30-day return policy).

So much for online shopping. Sigh.

ze weekend is here.

Alas, the long break is coming to an end. Well, the weekend is here, but I start work on Monday -- with an award submission deadline looming on Friday (not for the faint-hearted this job) and a succession of lunch/farewell appointments with the usual makan-makan kaki. I look forward to keeping my voice down one notch. The kids, sigh, the kids never listen when I try to talk like the Queen lol.

My Hatta Dolmat baju raya arrived at my MIL's today. Can't wait to pick it up. Impulse buy. The greatest feeling in the world. If it doesn't fit, I will hang it in my room in the open so that I am reminded to hit the gym more often and eat moderately. :)

Sushi Zanmai's garlic fried rice

This is a must order when I hit Sushi Zanmai. And inari soft shell crabs. and spider rolls. and plain inari. because I'm predictable that way.

Hey Ma.

Before stepping into Sambal Hijau resto: I taknak makan nasi. Teringin nak makan ikan singgang la.
After stepping into Sambal Hijau resto: Nasi penuh satu. *takes more than 3 lauks*
-_-

And thennnnn I saw kek batik. I want!!! Sorry, I've been craving this for months maybe. I know, it's probably the easiest thing to make but me and my tastebuds are not exactly friends, na mean? They're pretty good so yay!

Anyways, Mama has been hospitalized since yesterday for urine infection and some digestion issue. Hope she will feel better soon. :/

Our week.

Health and family, in random order.

My boy.

We may not see eye-to-eye most of the time but during quiet times, when I sing a line, he will then continue my song.

Currently:
Me: If our love's, insanity,
Him: Why are you my clarity?

His diction is not perfect, but the tune is there.

Silver linings everywhere

I'm too tired to write in detail about what happened. But I guess sometimes certain things are just not meant to be.

It's okay if I don't get to go to New York.
I tell everyone I have at least ten years to re-plan everything until my visa expires. :)

Roy is home, Rumi is feeling better and Emre is recovering from a g6pd allergy. We are alright.

The Social and Coffea Coffee

(The post that was not meant to be)

I don't fancy ordering set lunch because most of the time they taste like crap. The Social is one of those places.

Had baked potato skins for appetizer (the <20 bucks set lunch comes with an appetizer and a main course) and let me tell you something. They're probably not baked. Instead, they were probably dunked in oil deeper than the ocean (or how chanyeol the Korean namja would say: deePEARL than the ocean) and served to us. The oil oozing out of the potatoes... I can't even explain.

My carbonara was tasteless, despite it having the right amount of cheese and cream and bacon that would probably make master pok break down and cry and wail why why must you eat this!!
But that's okay, I didn't finish it anyway.

My lunch partner Serene-Na had grilled chicken sandwich which looked delicious and is probably delicious too. I didn't even bother to try.

Oh well. Maybe I'll try something else next time.

We then hit Coffea Coffee before rushing back to the office. Coffee's pretty decent and I guess you can't go wrong with Korean baristas haha. I drink San Fran coffee on a weekly basis (where can afford daily meh I'm at the lower end of the middle class misfortune) because Starbucks/Coffee Bean are soooo overrated. Looking forward to try more Coffea because they have Belgian cocoa oooh! If only Bangsar is less punishing these days with impossible parking luck and scorching hot weather.

I'm all packed and ready to go. One more day to go at work and I'm stumped with impossible deadlines. Sigh.

Just great. three of my posts are stuck in the blogger app. including one about how my drafts are stuck in the app. haha.
